can you help me to solve this add math question? No diagram is given for this question. PQR is a right angled triangle with its point R lying on the line y=3x. P is (5,5)and Q is (2,1). Find the two possible coordinates of R.

Depends on which calculator you are using. On fx-570ES which I’m using, press MODE, press 5:EQN, press 3: ax^2+bx+c=0.

Then enter the values of a, b and c. Press equal sign once you’ve entered each value, until the end, you’ll get answer x1=___ and x2=____

If you’re using another 570 calculator, I don’t know the exact menu function, but it’s also pressing MODE until you find the word EQN.

PS : Try asking any of your senior. Most Form 5 students would know.

my calculator is 570ms,i click the EQN have unknown 2,3 and degree 2,3 to select?

Select degree 2. Your equation is ax^2+bx+c=0. So it’s to the power of 2
